What to do if your inkjet ink freezes!

If the delivery driver leaves your ink on the front porch over the next few weeks, there is a good chance it could freeze. Here are some facts and tips if your inkjet ink freezes:

1) Most inkjet ink freezes at 28 degrees Fahrenheit

2) The contents are OK and you can use these tanks!!

3) If it is below 28 and your ink is left outside, unpack it and allow it to reach room temperature

4) It is a good idea to shake each cartridge well before using them

Consumer Guide to Modern Photo Papers

The Image Permanence Institute at the Rochester Institute of Technology recently published the new Consumer Guide to Modern Photo Papers It does a good job of covering inkjet paper technology as well as other forms of photographic printing.

This is a follow up to their A Consumer Guide to Traditional and Digital Print Stability which is a good primer on the causes of print fade.

Epson Advanced Black & White Workflow

Eric Chan updated his workflow recommendations for the Epson Advanced Black & White mode here. The page is specific to the Epson 3800, but the general ideas apply to any Epson printer with the ABW system (R2400 R2880 4800, 4880, etc.)

Thanks again to Eric for all of his hard work on the topic!
